Killarney & The Kingdom of Kerry

7 Days £549 per person

With April being our new summer over the past few years join us on this wonderful trip to
the Emerald Isle. Sitting at the foot of the MacGillycuddy Reeks, the delightful town of Killarney lies in one of the most beautiful corners of Ireland. Here amidst mountains and peninsulas you will find some of the most breath-taking scenery where sky, sea and rugged landscapes mix and meet in a profusion of colour.

“Situated in the heart of Killarney, this beautifully appointed hotel is just a short walk from many shops, traditional music bars and the Killarney National Park. The hotel has a luxury spa, contemporary décor and prides itself on a personal attentive service. The en suite bedrooms are stylish, spacious, air conditioned and have tea and coffee facilities.

THURSDAY After a morning departure we travel south and along the North Wales coast to Holyhead where we join our mid afternoon sailing to Dublin Port. On arrival we transfer to the highly regarded Johnstown House Hotel where, after time to relax, dinner will be served in the hotel restaurant.
FRIDAY After a leisurely breakfast we travel through the Irish countryside to County Kerry. We will pause at the picture postcard village of Adare with its main street of thatched cottages before continuing to Killarney for a mid-afternoon check in to the Killarney Plaza Hotel. There will be free time to explore before dinner. During our stay we have included a day at leisure and two wonderful excursions:
• Full day excursion to the Dingle Peninsular, visiting Inch Strand, Slea Head and Dingle town, sights made famous in the film “Ryan’s Daughter”.
• An outstanding excursion around the famous “Ring of Kerry”. This circular drive offers some of the very best Atlantic views and a valuable insight into rural life past and present in this remote corner of Ireland. We will have the opportunity to visit the Bog Village Museum (small admission charge) and discover tales of the families who once inhabited the bleak bogs and scraped a living from harvesting peat, as well as view some wonderful coastal scenery.
• Free day in Killarney. Relax or join us on an optional sail with Killarney Lakes Cruise and a ‘Jaunting Car’ horse and carriage ride through the National Park back to Killarney where you can enjoy the remainder of the afternoon at leisure.

TUESDAY  This morning we leave Killarney and travel to Dublin, with comfort breaks en route. On arrival we will drive through Phoenix Park, the home of the Irish President, and Dublin Zoo. There will be free time this afternoon to enjoy some shopping on Grafton Street, visit Trinity College and The Book of Kells or one of the many museums and galleries. Later this afternoon we travel to The Talbot Hotel Stillorgan for dinner and an overnight stay.
WEDNESDAY After an early start we travel to the Port of Dublin to join the 8.20 am sailing. Breakfast will be served on board the ship before arrival in Holyhead at 11.50 am. We will continue across North Wales, breaking for a late lunch and arriving home late afternoon or early evening.
