Cornish Delights

8 Days per person

Life seems to slow down in Cornwall, so join us on this relaxing break to Looe with its bustling port and sandy beaches. The spectacular rugged coastline of Cornwall provides a fabulous backdrop with hidden coves quaint fishing villages and world class gardens. From the old world charm of Polperro and the wide open spaces of Bodmin Moor to the sheltered river valleys of the Tamar and Fowey, there is something for everyone.

Situated in an unrivalled position with panoramic views of the vibrant harbour this family owned hotel is right in the heart of Looe. Having recently undergone a full refurbishment it has been awarded ‘Best Individual Hotel” at the prestigious National Coach Tourism Awards.

MONDAY After an early departure we travel south with comfort breaks en route arriving in Cornwall during the late afternoon or early evening with time to settle in to the hotel before dinner.

Whilst in resort we have included two days at leisure and the following excursions
• The Lost Gardens of Heligan, a genuine secret garden that until 25 years ago had been consigned to the undergrowth and is now amongst the finest in Cornwall, and Mevagissey, an attractive old town with ancient buildings constructed of cob and slate. This tourist hot spot was once the centre of Cornwall’s pilchard fishery and still boasts a small working harbour.
Fowey is an area of outstanding beauty with a natural harbour. Polperro squeezes down the valley to a small harbour. It was once a thriving centre for smuggling and remains a working fishing village.

• Padstow has a colourful busy harbour surrounded by pastel-washed medieval houses. The town is largely unspoilt with traditional pubs, gift and craft shops, cafés and restaurants including the famous ‘seafood restaurant’ run by the top chef Rick Stein.

• Lanhydrock House and Gardens is one of the grandest and most welcoming houses in Cornwall. It is set in a glorious landscaped gardens and parkland overlooking the valley of the River Fowey.
