Join us on this beautiful scenic holiday to the Black Forest, famous for its lush green meadows, pine clad hills and picturesque villages and inspiration for some of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales. The area is also renowned for the cuckoo clocks produced in the region since the 1700s. You will find a warm welcome from the locals who are immensely proud of their traditions and heritage.

MARITIM HOTEL TITISEE ****

Surrounded by forested mountains, this hotel is situated beside the Black Forest’s largest lake and has lovely forest and lake views. The facilities include a swimming pool, sauna, gym, private beach, library, restaurant, café and bar. The bedrooms are equipped with TVs, radio, telephone, safe, minibar and hairdryer.

Itinerary

SATURDAY  We travel to Hull to join the overnight ferry to Rotterdam. Accommodation is provided in outside cabins with two low berth beds (single cabins are inside cabins). Buffet dinner is included.
SUNDAY After breakfast on board we continue to our destination in the Black Forest with time to settle in before dinner.
MONDAY Today, we enjoy an excursion to the capital of the Black Forest, Freiburg, a medieval city of gabled houses and cobbled lanes overlooked by castle ruins.
TUESDAY Today we take a scenic drive through the beautiful Black Forest countryside to Triberg, with its many traditional wood-carving shops, extensive range of cuckoo clocks and the highest waterfalls in Germany! This vibrant town is also home to the Black Forest Museum and the picturesque 17th Century pilgrimage church of Maria in der Tanne.

WEDNESDAY Today we enjoy a leisurely visit to the charming town of Freudenstadt. Its famous market square is the largest in Germany and is framed by arcaded houses and the impressive Stadthaus Museum. The journey back to our hotel takes us on a scenic drive through the heart of the Black Forest.

THURSDAY Today is a free day in resort. Relax or take a stroll around the souvenir shops and enjoy a slice of Black Forest gateau at one of the many cafes. Alternatively you may prefer to take a lake cruise and admire the scenery.

FRIDAY Today we leave our hotel and make our way back to Rotterdam for the overnight ferry crossing to Hull.

SATURDAY After breakfast we disembark and continue our journey back to Tyne Valley arriving mid-afternoon.
